Graduated as electrical engineer working in mining, construction and steel. Met Pauline in England, Alex born in South Korea, Nicola in England. Lived and worked in Australia, England, Korea, Hong Kong, Canada, USA and South Africa. Joined Kiwanis in 2003, serving as club president, lieutenant governor, district secretary, then governor.

Why did you decide to run for office?
My involvement with Kiwanians at all levels, club, division, and at district, Kiwanis and Asia-Pacific conventions has provided Kiwanis knowledge and sound leadership and interpersonal skills required to work in our international management team. I believe my skills and experience can help develop and oversee our mission of improving the lives of children.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?
I served in managerial positions in corporate life, where sound decision-making and challenges were based on thorough consultation and counselling. I transferred this practice to my leadership in Kiwanis working with members, clubs and district for improved outcomes. This approach allows understanding and to view issues objectively, leaving aside parochial allegiances.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?
A resounding mark to leave would be the challenge of restoring member numbers to previous highs. I see a strategic plan, using the I Plan at all levels, to provide a universal guide. Being united in approach must improve the inspiration to grow and increase the impact in our communities.
