Katrina Baranko, Albany, Georgia
Kiwanis Club of Albany
Georgia District

• Kiwanis member since September 1993
• Owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics and Gifts
• Former high school teacher (business education)
• Education: BSED, University of Georgia; MBE, Georgia State University

Why did you decide to run for office?
I seek a place on the board of trustees because of my enthusiasm for Kiwanis and my desire to ensure this organization remains financially sound and relevant in today’s culture. I will contribute my time, abilities and experience to make a positive difference to support clubs’ efforts in serving their communities.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?
I have served in multiple leadership positions, not only in Kiwanis, but other professional organizations. My experience as a current business owner and former educator has provided me with the skill sets in the areas of leadership, budgets, team building and interpersonal communication which will help me make better decisions in the board room.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?
I want to leave knowing that, as a board, we worked together to explore new solutions and addressed continuing challenges in order to create and support an avenue for clubs to better serve their communities.
