KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE
Lee Kuan Yong of Malaysia was elected to a three-year term as a Kiwanis International Trustee in March 2011 at Kiwanis International’s Asia-Pacific Convention.
Lee has been a member of the Kuala Lumpur Kiwanis Club for 19 years, where he served as distinguished club president. He is a past-distinguished governor of the Malaysia District, past Asia-Pacific secretary/treasurer and was an international selection committee member for the current global campaign for children.
Lee served as vice-chair of the 2003 Asia-Pacific convention organizing committee, district chair for new club building in 2001-2002, president of the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, Malaysia in 2005-2007, and chair of the international committee on growth in Asia-Pacific in 2009-2011. Lee is a George F. Hixson Fellow and a charter Walter Zeller Fellow.
Lee holds a degree in accounting and computer science from Manchester University in England, and is a Chartered Accountant. He has been an executive/finance director of Gema Padu real estate group in Malaysia since 1995. Prior to that, he was a divisional financial controller with Manulife in Canada.
He enjoys ballroom dancing, traveling and gaining an international perspective on the “spirit of Kiwanis,”
Lee and his wife, Czeyan, are parents of two sons and a daughter-in-law.
