Kiwanis Club of Yakima and Internet club of Cascadia
Pacific Northwest District

Born in Yakima, WA. Attended and taught at Yakima Community College. U.S. Coast Guard (4 yrs). Managed family-owned automotive repair/tire store. Became a Realtor in 1986 and purchased the business in 1994. Joined Kiwanis in 1978. Two sons and six grandchildren. Happily-partnered to Dr. Sally Rodgers (met through Kiwanis).

Why did you decide to run for office?
With 11 years as the PNW District convention chair, I believe my skills in budgeting and event planning will be of value to the organization. I also see a need to bring business networking back into membership recruitment talks to enhance and promote business.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?
Having served on many local, state, professional, non-profit and Kiwanis boards, plus owning and operating my own business, I have gained valuable knowledge in the budgeting process, leadership roles, planning and implementing processes that have prepared me to work with others in Kiwanis leadership.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?
I hope to be able to work with staff on convention planning, and also bring “business networking” back into membership verbiage, thereby enhancing and promoting businesses to pay membership dues. Who do you do business with? Hopefully a Kiwanian.
