John DeVilbiss for vice president

John DeVilbiss

John DeVilbiss, West Alexandria, Ohio
Kiwanis Club of West Alexandria
Ohio District

John and his wife, Wanda, a Kiwanis member, have been married 46 years and reside in West Alexandria, Ohio. They have two children and six grandchildren. John is the recipient of the Hixson and Zeller awards, along with the Tablet of Honor. He has received numerous awards for his community service.

Why did you decide to run for office?
Kiwanis has 100 years of service, meeting the needs of our fellowman. Starting the next 100 years, we need to be positioned to meet future needs. This will require change. My experience in Kiwanis and in management will help guide Kiwanis to meet service needs in the future.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?
I have many years of management experience in the financial industry, both in banking and as a school treasurer. I now serve others as an emergency medical technician and by taking care of the medical needs of thousands of spectators at Eldora Speedway, a racetrack owned by Tony Stewart.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?
Being a Kiwanis International officer will allow me the opportunity to guide Kiwanis to meet the needs of the Kiwanis member, club and district. Kiwanis must always strive to expand the service provided by clubs to their community. That’s the reason for Kiwanis. Let's change and be ready to meet the needs.
