Hwang Chia Sing (Sing) of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was appointed to a three-year term as Kiwanis Children’s Fund trustee in October 2011. Since that time, he has been elected as Treasurer, President-elect, and currently President. He is the first leader from the Asia-Pacific region elected to this important position. He also serves as the board counselor for all the Asia-Pacific districts.

Sing is a 31-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur, which is a 300K Club for The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus. He served as the president of the Kuala Lumpur club in 1988. He is a founding board member of the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, which formed in 1990 and served as the KDSF president in 1997-99.

He also has served as governor of the Malaysia District in 2002-03 and as a trustee of Kiwanis International from 2005-08. Sing has travel widely to counsel Kiwanis districts in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Sing is a Diamond-level Charter Walter Zeller Fellow, a George F. Hixson Fellow, major gift donor, and recipient of the Tablet of Honor and the Honored Benefactor of the Children’s Fund. He has secured several Lead and Major gifts towards The Eliminate Project in Malaysia. In April 2012, he participated in the site visit for The Eliminate Project to the Philippines.

In the community, he served as the vice president on a school board. He is also a past president of Kuala Lumpur Basketball Association.

Professionally, Sing is the chairman of a logistics company in Malaysia. He holds a Msc in IT from the Staffordshire University, UK.

He is married to Looi and has two grown children and two grandchildren.
